Hunting of Boars

I stay in Panchgani (Maharashtra). There are wild boars over there. As there are many farm fields, the boars eat the crops and also destroy the crops in the process.
As in India many farmers can't afford actual strong fences they put some thorny branches and cloth so that animals can't come inside the field. This protects the field. But as less and less farmers are having the time and energy to do this many of the fields are left unprotected.
So in order to protect their crops the farmers would take small explosives and wrap them in some rotten meat or some food and keep it as a bait. As the boar will come and eat it, the explosive will explode in its mouth. The boar doesn't die instantly. It runs for one or two kilometers before it dies a slow and painful death.
Some farmers are know not only doing this to protect their crops, they have started doing this to get the boars meat and sell it in the market. They go and retrieve the boars body and sell it in the market. But they don't even get too much money. The wild boars in Panchgani and Wai are not so big, and don't have too much meat.
So to get hardly any money they are making the wild boars suffer so much. To protect their crops the farmers should try to us less cruel methods and try to fence their field with thorny bushes.
